Nissan Maxima Accident

I purchased a 2011 Nissan Maxima SV from an auction in Detroit a month ago. the car was in a side swipe accident, the Driver Side Rear Quarter Panel was heavily damaged.

My Winter project is to fix up this Nissan Maxima, and customize it with Aftermarket parts. I have taken the car to a collision shop, called NewBorn Customs in Warren Michigan and pictures will be posted as work is done on the car.

Here are the first pictures of the car when bought from the auction

I will also post links to the parts i have bought for this car.

The car is going to get a new paint job.

only 15k miles, nice find. Doesn't look to bad at all. Definitly a fixer. Should be able to save 10 grand versus picking up one from the dealer lot.

good luck and keep us updated. Pictures are always fun.

I'm curious to hear more about NewBorn Customs and see some of the custom work they've done in the past.

Most of the used Maxima's setting on the lots around my area have been picked up by the dealers at auction. I know they are getting a good deal on those. You must have got a smoking good deal on a wrecked one. Good luck with and looking forward to seeing the pics of the cars progress.

Add the stillen lip while you are going through all this work. The other thing to be sure of while going through the disassembly process is to ensure the shop is careful pulling all your lights out especially the taillights. The tabs can break and then it's a few hundred bucks for new ones. It happened on my car when they were fixing it. Luckily the insurance company picked it up.
One thing that hit me with these pics-the windshield fluid reservoir is huge on our cars. I bet it holds almost a gallon.

Good luck-it is cool rebuilding a car that you get to hang on to. keep us updated

Get the 2012 Sport grill (no chrome). I wold also suggest the blacked out head and taillights, but the ones you got seem to be ok. It has potential..

Meh, it'll buff out. Hehe.

But seriously, that damage to the rear left looks like the worst of it (regarding repairs) and I'd be weary about any damage to the frame. In any case, this car can be resurrected and you've obviously got numerous possibilities. Maybe consider a sweet custom paint job/scheme. Stillen Lip is a nice add-on. Good luck!

contact this dude named kmoney and ask him to do a pair of headlights for you... that should be a good start then stillen lip, lowering kit, some 20's and then the rest is up to you

2011 Nissan Maxima Repairs

Hey guys as promised I have posted pictures of my Nissan Maxima at the Body Shop. The car as seen in previous pictures was heavily damaged from the left side. I found parts for the car at near by salvage yards. I was very lucky to finds parts close by, but other parts like the Left side rood Airbag was hard to find, I used car-parts.com and located a yard out west that had the airbag and an oem 18'' wheel.

The rear Quarter Panel was replaced and welded.

Nissan Maxima Accident-photo-2.jpg

I found both doors at near buy salvage yard for approximately $900

Nissan Maxima Accident-photo-4.jpg

Nissan Maxima Accident-photo-5.jpg

The right side was lightly damaged but i was repaired and just needs a paint job.. Next the car will be primed and ready for a paint job. New pics of the paint job will be posted over the weekend.

I took everone's opinions into consideration and will post pics of the aftermarket things i bought for this car.

I was thinking of painting my wheels gunmetal grey and found great deal on tires Nitto NT850 Plus for $162.00 plus $25 off for cyber monday..

http://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/nitto.../p/tv154000378

Keep me posted.

wow, that's awesome! 7 grand for the wrecked car, plus whatever you're putting in to make her roadworthy again...saving a metric fvckton! I like it!

I like seeing the progression of the pics too...can't wait to see when it's all done!

Can't wait. Your car's come a long way. Kudos to you for bringing it back from the dead!

She gonna have a "salvage" title?

You know, with all the repairs your doing, you could probably opt to build a custom kit at this point. If the goal's not to spend over the cost of a brand new one (what, $32k?), a couple grand more to have a custom kit designed doesn't sound so bad. What's the estimated final cost after purchase and work done?

Ahem... that's how I'd rationalize it

When you purchased it, did it come with a clear or salvage title? I don't know about there, but registering a vehicle with a previously salvaged title here can be a PITA and sometimes nearly takes an act of Congress. Seems they're doing a nice job on the repairs... looking good thus far.

The car came with a salvage title, but in Michigan you can get a rebuilt title and drive the car, I am adding a rear spoiler and a roof spoiler , along with custom headlights and fog lights.

Newborn customs have done a terrific job in the repairs, and with the help of car-parts.com I was able to find all of the parts for my car. Some parts i had to purchase from the dealership but I came to find out that some parts at the dealership are cheaper than parts that are sold at various salvage yards.

Hopefully by the end of next week I will have the car and will post pictures along with a video.

I am thinking about adding a remote start system and currently looking for options for this upgrade.

I would like to thank everyone here for their support and fixing this car has given me knowledge and have saved ton of money. I will post the final budget at the end.

Maxima Accident UPDATED!!!

Hey Guys sorry Its been a while since i been on the forum

I am going to post all the pics of my car starting from beginning to finish, I am still doing some more work to the car, which i will talk about in the end.

Ok here are the pics of the car when I took it to the shop

These nxt pics are of my maxima which was entirely repainted

these nxt pics are of my final car, as you can see i bought most of my upgrades from EBAY!!

My upgrades Included a new grille, headlights and halo fog lights.

There was a lot of work to get this car fully rebuilt and in driving condition. The cost of the ccar as you all may know from the dealers is around $30,000 for a new or used one as i may assume. But luckly I found this one for $6,700 from an auction. I spent about $6,000 getting it fixed, which was not too bad.

I want some comment sand feedbacks to what i have done rite or wrongs thnks

ENJOY!!!!

The car drives fine, I had the alignment done as well as had to change the rear driver side control arm because the wheel was sitting weird.

I had the wheels painted a custom dark metallic, for about 100$

I have updated the pic error.

My nxt task is to add tints and a rear spoiler. I bought hids for my fogs and headlights from ddmtuning for about 50$ all together.

Will be showing you a step by step video soon on how the car drives and a walkthrough the whole car. U be the judges.

Well, I also had an accident and faced the similar problem. I immediately took my Nissan Maxima to http://www.automotix.net/usedautoparts.html , where i replaced all the damaged parts with the good quality used auto parts, after proper servicing the problem was completed sorted out and my car look as beautiful as it was before.
