BC Racing Coilovers
BC Racing Coilovers
I'm ready to pull the trigger on some BC Racing Coilovers, but have a few questions before I place my order...
First off, for those of you who have BC Racing Coilovers, which spring rates did you go with? I've seen some speak about going with 9k over the 7k as they were designed to work in conjunction with the Altima.
Secondly, does anybody have any information around install? How to links, degree of difficulty, tips?
Lastly, lets see some pictures! I have been tossing the idea of coilovers or springs around for a month and finally came to the realization that I would always be unhappy with the inability to go lower if I went with springs - having had two vehicles lowered on Eibach springs previously.
Anything else I may be overlooking? I can't stand the fender gap!

I'm on BCs 9k front 7k rear. 9k fixed issues I was having up front however, I think the rear is too soft. The ride is still pretty bouncy and even when raised completely with stock wheels on, the ride can be hard at times. I've been in touch with BC for the problems I've been having and they have been very helpful. I would do 8k all around or maybe 9k front 8k rear? 8k would may be stiff enough to support the front but still soft enough for a good ride. Same with the rear. Coilovers are worth it if you are going for the slammed look. If you are going to have anything more than .5" gap just go with springs.
Unless you have done it before, take it to somebody that knows how to install them properly.

I dont have a 7th GEN, but I have a 5th gen and I just bought Tein SA coilovers (they replace the SS Coilovers) and they come with 7kg front and 6kg rear. I upgraded to 9kg front and 8kg in the rear and probably have about a 1.5" gap on all 4 wheels. I cant go too low because my downpipe on my turbo will scrape. With the Teins on FULL HARD the back end bounces too much. I believe I could go 10kg front as well. When Im in Boost the Teins just cant handle the power....the back of the car squats and bounces which causes the car to swerve....it sucks. With the Tein SS you cant adjust the height and spring load separately...the more you lower it the more it uncompresses the spring and the softer the ride gets. BUT the Teins are VERY comfortable around town and cruising. But they are not something for serious performance minded drivers that want the ultimate in handling...even with the stiffer springs and on FULL HARD damping they are still way too soft for me. This is why I was considering BC racing coilovers. I would go stiffer in the rear. With the Maximas I think the rears need to be stiffer than the fronts......I'm performance minded so I would go with 10kg front and 11kg rear....but thats just me.
yo, just check out the eibach spring install. its pretty similar for the fronts. for the rear you just install the struts seperately from the spring and gear that raises and lowers the car. its a pretty easy swap out if you have the right tools and a lift
BC coilovers "04 Maxima"
I see that a lot of you have switched out the springs to 9k front, 8k rear. Did you buy them like that with the coilovers or did you habe to buy the springs sepertly from the carrier? Thanks in advance!
