Bumper Armor

Hey guys, moved to NYC, and LOVE the parking spots . Looking to buy a parking armor. Does anyone have any experience with them? If so, what size did you get? I have a 2012 max.

This is the first time I've heard of this stuff. A quick search and I found bumper bully and parking armor. Bumper bully looked more aesthetically pleasing, but I wonder how well either works. Not a bad idea at all, really.

God that's ugly, but I guess cheaper in the long run for tight parking spots especially because the maxima isn't the slimmest vehicle

Go a different route and have your entire car sprayed with some type of truck bed lining coating.

Yeah, i think it will help... parkingarmor . com ..... thats the one im looking at, because you can put it in the trunk, and it looks like it has a lot more padding. It comes in three sizes, so i dont know which one to get. Was wondering if anyone here has one and could recommend a size.

I really hate to see my white car all scuffed up....

Holy crap, that's ugly as sin. Maybe it's the video though.

I'm in DC now and there are tons of those bumper guards.

Heh. I wonder if that's either being more defense minded to poor/negligent drivers or enabling them...

That said, its still not a bad idea. It doesn't protect your corners though.

I also came across these. Really, not a bad idea either. If I were in an area I had to parallel park more, I'd consider this. Won't help against a truck or raised vehicle, of course....

Definitely both. Seeing people park down there is both comical and frightening.

On a related note, I just spotted an Audi A4 on the Tapan Zee driving with a bumper guard. I tried to get my girlfriend to snap a pic but he was going too slow.

In Norwalk CT now for dinner .... TONS of snow!! I'm not looking forward to shoveling tonight.

I think it will probably encourage people to be more careless, but hey, looks like they are careless anyway, so might as well have some sort of defense. The front bumper shox are nice, but so bulky. I might get the middle one, ive seen the xl version on a car and it looks like a little animal stuck on your car. after much discussion and seeing a few different types walking around today, i think i will go with the bumper bully because it is thin and can easily go back into trunk, and since its rubber, it will not hold water. The bumper armor is bulky and people say it retains water. not something i want in my trunk.... Also, technically its not for bumper cars, but to simply avoid scratches from them, so the extra padding wont really be necessary... Opinions?

Looks like you can move the velcro straps to the opposite side of the curb so that way it further covers your corners when people pull out...

I'd likely choose the same especially after learning the other retains water. I don't know why anyone would drive away with it down. That's just inviting more scratches (by the pad) Just make sure it's got the steel core straps so it's harder to tamper with. The bumpshox is a pretty good idea as well. I may look into these in the future but haven't really found a need lately.

That truck-liner "painted" car... ballsy... but dang. Wanna see that in action, lol!

A Bumper guard may protect your front and back partially, but in NYC you are going to need a lot more than that for protection. Trust...me, I know. lol.

Might need to look into contacting Knight Industries for whatever that coating is they sprayed KITT with.
