I lurk more than I post... but congrats on your new exhaust Nemo! Actually I was one of the first to get this exhaust when it was a prototype. Not trying to brag. But I did get it for $975 with $60 shipping back in October 2012. I'm in the SF bay area, but do visit Sac on the occasion.

As for the exhaust I'm pretty happy with it. It's a bit noisy in the cabin for my girlfriend's taste. I do have the stillen SRI and the Racingline Y. Maybe it's getting louder over the years? In terms of performance, I feel like it adds some power... but maybe it's psycological due to the added exhaust note. No dyno for me. Anyways... maybe I'll see you around Nemo. Nice Max btw.

btw... if you're considering the Racingline Y-pipe, you're going to have to cut the pipes about 2 inches. I had to take it to a muffler shop to do this. The AAM will NOT bolt directly on to a max with the R y-pipe. Learned this the hard way.

you shorten the Racingline Y-pipe by 1 inch, it's 1 inch longer than the stock Y-pipe and there is no play with the AAM fitment, it needs OEM length Y-pipe. I did the first test fitment with them at their shop and the Y-pipe over a year ago, it's just 1 inch

You need to lay off the caffeinated beverages.
Any Short ram intake is going to increase noise, but maybe if lucky add 1 hp.
Any CAI is going to increase noise, but maybe add 2 hp.

If you bought this exhaust and haven't done a y-pipe already, you are doing it backward. The factory y-pipe constricts to 1" tall. You can put a 4" cat back exhaust on it and not see any gains.
That is why the y-pipe is said to add 10-15 hp, and is actually noticeable on the butt dyno.

A 3" intake in no way has any relation on exhaust size.

Lol your so way off, your telling me via forum about how my car responds with CIA @ 5K rpm. Lol your so lost guy not even worth a full response. Altima forum is the next site over.

P.S.
The caffeine comments are lame, get new material guy...

Nope.
I just know how 7th gen maximas respond, nothing to do with your car.
You didn't say if you have a y-pipe upgrade, so I assume you don't. Tells me you know nothing about performance and have no room to make any comments.

I do actually have a background in performance, and actually supply parts to nissan (though for the rogue, Titan, and others, not maxima).

Enjoy you latte extra whipped cream.

hey Ghost. my shop cut the AAM exhaust and not the Y-pipe. not sure if it makes a big difference. you seem to have a similar set up to me in terms of exhaust, Y and intake. how's the noise in the interior? I think mine is getting louder in the cabin over the past two years. You? just curious. maybe it's just me.

That's crazy!!! Your shop cut a $1300 exhaust instead of hacking up a $300 y-pipe?!?!? Shenanigans I tell you!! I'd be pretty pissed if I were you. You'll take the hit on the resale should you ever decide to off load it tho.

Hey,

I have the AAM exhaust, and RL-Y pipe. I had to cut about half inch out of it to make it fit. I got mine in 2012 but installed in 2013.
