Thinking of getting a 09 max
I have an 09 since it was new and now have 103k miles on it. So far the only issue I had was the wheel motor broke on me. Other than that it has been a great car! I have has synthetic oil since the beginning and have no oil burn. I have drained the radiator as well as the CVT and that's it.
Maurice I went from a 2003 to my current 2010 Maxima. I chose the 2010 because I learned from the owners here of the steering wheel lock issue, the condensation in the tail lights and dash rattling noise common to the 2009.
I personally will never buy a first year or redesigned vehicle again, (volvo S80). That being said, the 7th Gen Maxima's don't have the oil burning issues of old but if you are not familiar with the CVT trans they take some getting used to.
If you can find a certified car with a warranty, I would recommend going that route.

My question is how many miles are you changing your oil in between? 3k? 4k? And at how many miles did you start experiencing oil burning?
