Hello everyone
Im a mew maxima owner !
I used to have 350zfor almost 4 years ( was the best fun car i ever had)
I recently got a brand new 2013 maxima and about to put stillen rear exhaust system ( just two mufflers basically )
Ny question is can i sell my stuck rear exhaust parts ? I have about 500 miles on the car so exhausts are almost brand new
I need some advice how to sell my stock parts after i changed the mufflers and how much can i get
Dealer will charge over 1400$ for those two factory mufflers so i was hopping to get at least around $500 for them

Find out the part numbers and check the MSRP.
Then check Nissan courtesy parts, this price will be almost 50% cheaper.

Then see if you can figure out how much an exhaust shop would charge you for the part.

These numbers will all give you a ballpark of what (not) to expect.

Next list them everywhere you can ... craigslist, ebay, on the ORG.

Selling stock parts is like fishing. Cast your line and wait.

The bottom line is that they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

You could also look into how much a scrap yard would pay you ... doubt it would be $500 but you never know.

Has anyone had a problem with your maxima switching gears before you want in manual paddle shift mode?

Thank again for all the great information i will get all the right numbers soon and you are right it might take time but whatever i get its better than nothing
I got a good deal on those stillen exhaust system brand new i end up paying about $440 after tax and fees & free shipping so hopefully if i get about the same money for my factory exhaust ill be happy icalled the dealer and they said my stock exhaust sells for about $1460 brand new so it should be easy to sell them for 400 or 500. Thank you again for the info and i will keep you updated about what happned and how the new exhaust system sounds

No prob. I'm sure that other members will chime in on the subject the next few days.

WRT what the dealer said, they might be quoting you for the entire system ... mufflers, mid pipe, and y-pipe. The Calsonic system is decent but not $1400 decent. Though it's likely mark-up.

Good luck with the Stillen system ... post some pics when you get 'em installed.

Start a new thread ...

but to answer, sounds like the ECU is overriding your (lack of) decision to 'shift' at the appropriate time. Don't wanna be over/under revving.

maybe a Moderator could move this post???
