Looks like nothing significant but I'm interested in seeing these two new colors.

Those that did this with their '12 or '13 Maxima actually still DO have the 'Limited' package, and those buying a 2014 'S' with the 'Value' package might as well refer to it as the 'Limited' package, since Maxima fans are familiar with the term 'Limited' package, NOT the term 'Value' package.
I agree that the word 'Value' rings of supermarket discounts, not wonderfully sporty accessories for a car. Considering the target audience for this particular package, I think Nissan made a miscalculation with this name change.

Well I think they changed the name from Limited in 12 to Value package for 14 because they cannot use Limited again....Limited means just that a few made, it would make the limited edition people feel not so limited if you get me. They are hoping that people will not catch on to that, but us Maxima guys know its the same thing just a marketing ploy! Here is a list of the "Special Edition" Maximas throughout the years from 2nd to 7th gen.
2nd gen:
1987- Mega max (Max SE with body kit)
1988- Shiro Edition SE (came with whited out rims, trim etc)
3rd gen: no special versions
4th gen:
1999- SE "Limited" (came with darker trims, titanium gauges, SE limited badging)
5th gen:
2001- 20th Anniversary Edition SE
2003- Titanium Edition SE
6th gen: no special versions
7th gen:
2012- Limited Edition S
2014- Value Package Edition S

As with the original poster of this thread, I too am interested in seeing the new colors. When I got my new 2010, it was one of the few times in my life that I was buying a new car and had the choice of any color I wanted -- they were all on the lot. But I was actually pretty disappointed in my options. It seemed to me that there were color choices on the Murano that were more interesting. I loved the black of course (but you can't keep it clean around here, pollen season is 8 months of the year) and settled on the frost white. Even as I look at the cars others on this blog own, it seems like I see white, black and silver a lot... I often like dark grays, but not the one Maxima has had, so I'd like to see the new one -- same with the red.

Its nothing but a word game to sell a couple 2014 Maximas in its last year of production, the enthusiast will buy the car and call it Limited, and people looking for a value will buy it and forget what they have on the car by the 2nd payment

Yeah I recall that for the 04 model year, I did not include it because I was mainly basing it off of external things. All of those other packages had something visually externally to distinguish them from the "normal" versions, ex. 99 Se Limited had Darker rims and SE limited badging on it.

Not 'will be'. Nissan is ALREADY rolling 2014 Maximas out onto the north storage lot in Smyrna by the hundreds as we speak. Shipment to dealers should begin within a week or two. But there will be no hoopla whatsoever, as the changes from the 2013 are not worth mentioning. This is always the case for the last model year of each generation.
Yes, the '14 will be the usual 'short run' marking the last year of a generation. The hoopla leading up to the spring 2014 release of the 2015 8th gen Maxima will not begin until around Christmas, and will be splattered all over TV, newspapers, magazines, e-mags, twitter, billboards, facebook and probably even a few sky-writing biplanes.
Here on maxima.org, we will begin the spy photo search for the 8th gen Maxima around Thanksgiving. As is always the case, most supposed sightings of the 8th gen Maxima will actually be photos of other Nissan products sold in other parts of the world, and not the 8th gen Maxima made for U.S. sale.
The 2015 8th gen Maxima styling has to be pretty much locked in place by now, as there is a lead time necessary in order to construct the dies necessary to stamp out all the new body panels. Camouflaged first copies of the 8th gen will be on the road and test tracks in Arizona and California by Thanksgiving, so 8th gen body panels have to be available before then.
On another note, Nissan will begin producing the Datsun again about a year from now, but only in hatchback form, for sale in India only, for around $6900. I drove Datsuns back in the 1970s.
