100k Miles + On Eibach's Replace or Keep
I have over 100k miles on my Eibach springs on 09 Maxima already and lately my ride is feeling harsher and harsher. I've looked everywhere to see if putting 100k miles on these Eibach springs would change anything and most people say they are lifetime. I change my shocks about 30k miles ago so not sure if changing shocks would help my ride a little. Was considering getting the D2 Racing RS Coilovers but wondering if the extra $1000 would make a difference. In the process of getting my car up to date with mods and paint. Was on 2yrs of retirement on the Max. Time to fix her up and make her beautiful again. What do you guys think about the springs? Any info helps

I had my Eibachs on from ~30k miles to ~50k miles and after that my shocks were basically shot. I'm on coilovers now, which is rougher, but the "squeaking" over bumps etc is gone and when I bottom out it's cause I know I"m low, not that my shocks are sucking. Personally I'd go with coils just cause it seems like the shocks don't do that great when lowered - pretty common for other cars too as I understand it.

Most companies are saying shocks should be replaced every 50k miles. When you lower your car, you add more stress and the factory shocks aren't designed for that, and wear out faster. 30-50k replacement on them would not be unreasonable.
You can go with coils, but you will have a harsher ride. It may be similar if you stick with the same height you have now, but the non-progressive rate springs will change how the ride feels.

^ Correct - this seems in line with the normal lifetime of shocks. Keep in mind with coils you need to rebuild them routinely as maintenance; it's not just a part you can slap on the car and expect to last 100k miles

When I looked on courtesyparts.com I saw they're like $145 each for the front shock assembly, and $140 each for the rear shock absorber. Considering I picked up my coils used from another member for pretty close to that price, it was a no brainer. Granted even at stock height coilovers will be a rougher ride than stock, or springs, cause the springs themselves are stiffer.

no aftermarket shocks for our cars. you can try vehicles with compatible suspension parts like the 08 350z but those are designed for cars that aren't the same weight as the Maxima so may/may not live up to your expectations.

One thing to note which I just found out and took advantage of is that if you buy nissan oem struts from the dealer and have them installed at the dealership nissan will give you a warranty on the struts. I bought new struts about a 1.5 yrs ago and ot it started leaking and they replaced it no charge. Didnt pay for anything. I'm surprised since I'm dropped on eibachs too.

Well I've been going to my dealership since 09 when it was new and pretty cool with the service guys they didn't care it was dropped and still did the warranty replacement but I'm sure other dealerships could deny it.
