Car starting in Ds mode

When I turn the car on and put it in D I look at the dash and it shows "1m". So its in Ds mode. In order to take it out of Ds and back into D I have to drive a bit, put it in "2m" by shifting up then put the stick back to D. Is there some kind of setting to start it in Ds mode I can change?

First there is no setting for which you ask about. Second there is something going on and and from what you describe it is all bad.

The dash indicator should read D or Ds when the shifter is in D or Ds. It will stay that way unless you change it with the paddle shifters (Indicates M-1 thru M-5) or change the position of the gear shift.

The gear shift, dash indicator, or the Cvt is out of sync and needs to be fixed by the dealership. Should be covered by the 100,00 miles warranty of the Cvt.

One thing you could try is disconnecting the battery for a few hours to see if this might reset the whole thing.
