Fuse Box Module replacement cost

Just wanted to pass this on and hopefully help someone in the future. My 09 Maxima's wipers quit working. After checking everything my mechanic determined it was the fuse box module. went to a local junk yard and they sold me one for 150.00. Installed it and it was junk. returned it and got another and it was junk. Got my money back and decided to go buy one from the dealer. WOW I expected well over $300 for it and to my surprise retail was 143.00 with my discount 114.00. Folks always check the dealer sometimes they are well below what you think. Bought new seatbelts from them for 60 a piece. By the way put in new part and all is good. Dealer says Nissian has problems with these and they can affect headlights, wipers and other things. Hope this helps someone some day. Simple to install.

That's awesome, glad it was able to get repaired for you. Personally, I never go to the dealership for anything, insane pricing and inept technicians in my experiences. One Nissan guy installed a replacement CV boot for me using a zip tie. Yup, a zip tie.

I try not to use the dealers for much myself, other than my free oil changes. The last time I went the tech tried to sell me an air filter for $35 dollars.

Xx

Just want to clarify I am not recommending you take your car to the dealership for work. Just wanted to say always check with the dealerships parts department on the cost of new vs used. Sometimes they are cheaper.

The module is located in the fuse box under the hood. It is the white(cream) colored plastic rectangle box that the fuses are installed in and there is 5 plugs that plug into it with wires coming out of them. Once you unplug the 5 plugs then it just snaps out of the fuse box and the new one snaps in. Real simple to change.
