Key FOB

Any body ever had an issue where the entire key fob stops functioning? None of the button works and the car doesn't detect the key fob when youre near the vehicle so you need to entire the fob in to the slot? If this has happened to you how did you fix it

No. The slot is just to allow you to start the vehicle even if the key fob batt is dead. Not to recharge.

I think the keys only allow up two keys to be programmed I had three keys from the dealer when they went to program the third it bumped the original key off . Just wondering if this is a safety think or not ?

Are new cars now being sold without owners manuals?
A lot of questions would be answered if people simply opened one up and skimmed through it.

Whenever I get a new car or new to me car I practically sleep with my owners manual so I can understand all the features and know how they work.

I'll second that. My wife thinks I'm weird, but, I read manuals from cover to cover on day 1. Lol

No idea. Maybe the dealer was lazy.

As maxgig and serpent alluded to, this info is in the owners manual.

Max gig obviously I read the manual and it does not state this so before you go and assume you have read the owners manual and memorized it and can't help don't act like an *** to people and maybe you would get somewhere .

Wow. I don't think maxgig was even referring to you, but rather he was suggesting to the OP that his question about the battery for the fob could have been answered by reading the manual.

It was fun to see you puff up your chest though. Lol

Actually I think you're lucky these days to get an owners manual with a used car.

But still, the PDF version should be readily accessible online. I printed up the entire manual and put it in a binder. That now sits in my glove box.

I don't think this was meant maliciously, though it's tough to get intent from words written on a forum.

I wouldn't sweat it I I were you, though.

But FYI, there is like an entire chapter in the manual devoted to the 'Intelligent Key'. It does say how many keys can be programmed, and gives info on troubleshooting.

Don't buy an off brand battery, they will have your key acting funny.
