High Mileage

I have a 2012 S with about 51,000 on it at the moment i drive close to 100 miles a day so i pack the miles on..

my question is does anyone else have high miles on there 7th gen any recommendations to keep it running smooth?

and have you guys ran into any problems the more miles you put on?

Change fluids/filters at recommended intervals. Keep an eye on brake pad material, change when needed. Really, there is nothing special to do until after 100K.

I drive 125 miles/day...46k/year.
I just change the oil every 4-5k miles, trans drain/fill every 30k, brake flush every 30k...

In my 09 (now at 232,000) I drive around 160 miles or so round trip. I have replaced the RSAs at 72,000...The first set Michelin MXV4s about 110,000 miles later. I did have the radiator fans replaced early on (not mileage specific) my Climate Controlled seat a few times (although not in the last 2 years or so). I replaced the first set of plugs at 100K and the second at 220K with both sets looking great. I did have a piece of my moon-roof fly off a few years back but they replaced that under warranty. Battery replaced after 18 months or so with a die hard platinum. The floor mats are replaced once a year (i must be hard on them!)

I change oil every 5K with Mobile 1 5-30, CVT drain about every 75K , and did my first radiator drain and fill 2 months ago. Brake Pads are still fine, but I will drain and fill the brake fluid when I replace the brakes. No shimmy or shake since I got off the RSAs.

I have noticed the carpet directly under the front of the driver's seat deteriorating (where the mats don't reach) and I guess my long legs "git figgity" on the drive. (You would think a 6'4" driver would keep his legs out front, but my left leg has nothing to do!!! )

Oh, I did have a suicidal racoon attack my car about 18 months or so ago, but the body shop did great work and I can't blame Nissan for that.

I do not mod (unless you want to consider the 4DSC decal removal from wear and tear a mod!)

All in all, one of the better cars I have owned. I would definitely buy again...but am now very curious as to how many miles I CAN get...I may have to miss out on the 8th gen just to see!

Keep on top of regular maintenance at appropriate intervals as stated and if you want smooth run all fluids with amsoil synthetic

232k miles is a lot of miles before a brake job, but its totally possible. My mom drove a 1970 Cadillac for 10+ years and 188k miles before the brakes were changed on it.

43K on my OEM tires and brake pads, with plenty of miles left on both. Nissan recommends having the service tech run their test on the CVT fluid every 30K, and if the test shows fluid needs changing, I will change it.

The tech at my Nissan dealer says they find very few Maximas with CVT fluid needing changing before the 60K test. Those few that needed changing at 30K were either frquently driving on dusty unpaved roads or pulling a trailer or doing very aggressive driving.

He also said the fluid of almost all Maxima CVTs still tests fine at 60K, but I will probably change fluids at 60K anyway.

Yeah, what all these guys said. Perform the standard maintenance. Driving more miles (probably more highway) is typically easier on the car so sticking with regular maintenance is more than sufficient.

Nope..I brake with my fingers whenever possible (read with the column shifters.) Still plenty of pad on backs and fronts but backs are showing more wear than the fronts for some reason.

I just had my rear brake pads replaced last weekend, the front pads were still good and the rear pads were almost gone. I read some where on here that the rear brakes brake harder than the front to reduce nose-dive.

Appreciate the responses looking at some of the responses my mileage a day doesnt seem that bad anymore lol

yea brakes seem to wear slow on this car they said mine were still in the green and my back tires are in the yellow but front tires are in the green but imma probably go with a better tire, expecting 5-7 inches of snow today so i'll see if i wanna keep these tires
