PlastiDip Question....

Quick question for anyone with experience dipping your car/grille/emblems....is it difficult to color match with PlastiDip? I ask because I'm getting ready to wrap my front bumper to give the grille an extended look, and I want to dip the top and bottom bar of the 3-bar grille to match the color of my car. My car is the Satin Pearl Metallic SomethingorAnother lol. I believe the color code is QAB. Has anyone tried to do this?

Another question, concerning the Pearl Max's....has anyone tried dipping the emblems a different color other than black? I was thinking doing something like a burnt orange for the rear Nissan and Maxima emblems...just something different.

Thanks!

Yeah it's hard to get a dead set match! QAB is the right paint code for the Pearl white Max! I've purchased a couple quarts threw paintscratch.com and it's dead on!! But it's really up to you which color, plus it peels off if you don't like it!!

Thx, I actually posted on FB not too long after I posted here and was able to get the answers I needed. I'm going to buy the dip from Pepboys this weekend and try and mix a few colors to see what I get!

That's what seems so cool about plastidip, how you can peel it off if you don't like it. I was also going to try and mix a burnt orange color for the emblems...if I like it, I might try it on the grille too, just to see.

"Just peel it off" is a bit of an exaggeration. Its not like a banana peel or anything. One thing that works like a charm is WD40 and 5 mins. Wipes off like butter on a rag.

I bet it would be really close to the QX3 color code.

Here are some examples.
