Muffler recommendations

Hey guys. Looking for muffler only recommendations. Looking to make my Max a little louder but I don't want to do a cat back.

Are you talking like specific axle back like the "FlowMaster Delta 40" or just a recommendation of companies like FlowMaster or Magnaflow?

Stillen makes an axle back only option.

Delete the resonator and 3rd cat instead. Cheaper, more power and sounds good.

Don't mean to be harsh but does it sound like a "ricer"? This is my first automatic and I've been considering getting an exhaust because I can't tell how fast I'm going so the sound would definitely help...

Checkout Thrush or Greddy. They sound pretty nice.

I removed my stock resonator and installed a high flow compact resonator.
Then I installed two Magnaflow 2.5" street series mufflers.

Great sound and cheaper than buying a companies premade system.

I was going to chime in but Maximadrvr beat me too it. I just did 2 altima V6 and a acura tl with a very similar set up. My car just has resonator delete and that is loud enough for me. Way more bang for the buck.

I think I'm going this route myself. I like your setup. Which resonator did you go with (brand/part #)? How would you describe the sound with the aftermarket resonator?

+1

Which Magnaflow muffler did you go with? Hahaha it looks great but it's hard to tell from the website!!

Thinking about doing this and am curious also. Do you have a vid out there with the sound? For some reason, I'm thinking you do and that I've heard it and liked it.

Do you live in an area with wintery conditions? It looks like there's no rust on the pic there.

Magnaflow 14829 if I remember correctly.

It was about $350 for the mufflers, $60 for an eBay stainless 2.5"x18" resonator, and $100 to have it all welded in.

I had started without the resonator, but there was too much drone for my liking. (I drive 130 miles a day, so it can't be loud in the cabin on the highway) It is perfect after installing the resonator. It is very deep, and I get a lot of compliments. I do not have a video of it, but I can work on that.

Where I live in NC, we only get about 3 snows a year, and it is gone in a few days. Rust is not something we have to worry about.

I didn't get sound clips yet. I will work on that later.

There is Carolina Nissans, but it is pretty much dead.
There are large VW groups, but nothing that I know of for Nissans/maximas.

I was in Raleigh last week, and Boone yesterday.

Does anyone know if the resonator delete makes the exhaust raspy or tinny sounding? Does anyone that did this mod regret doing it? Chime in cause I'm about to do it.

My experience with my Altima SE-R with no resonator was when it's cold you get a little rasp but after it heats up it sounds perfect no rasp.

Slight rasp or spend significantly more money. The choice is yours. I love the sound. It is exactly what my old g35 coupe sounded like stock.

"Sorry to all the haters."

I'm going to opt for the resonator delete lol. Money bags I am not. I have never been under Max before. Which resonator do I tell my guy to remove?
