rocking seat for 2013
Hi,
I've had my 2013 SV for 1 month, and it has the delightful rocking seat
From what I've read, the dealer fix is temporary. Any other ideas here? anyone still happy with the wood 2x4 method?
I've got lots of warranty left, I can wait for it to get worse ~ but if the dealer fix is just a band-aid, I would prefer to do otherwise.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Timely post... I too have a '13 SV that has developed the rocking seat. About a month ago I made a quick u-turn and felt / heard a pop noise under the seat... been rocking slightly front to back since then. I notice it while I come to a quick stop, or take off with some gusto.
I already have an appointment one week from today to have it looked at. There was at least one other member who had a '13 worked on recently for the rocking seat and his was "cured" at least for now... with a new seat base.

From reading many of the posts in the 7th Gen Forum I get the feeling Nissan does not actually try and identify the cause of failure in a part. So Nissan does not improve or modify any of the parts that fail on their vehicles. Instead the same old part is replaced with the same type/ model of part that previously failed.... and let's hope for the best. The tail light condensation issue is a case in point.
I believe the rocking seat issue has plagued the Maxima since 2009. There is no profit in redesigning and remanufacturing an existing part that fails so there is no point in resolving the issue. Who cares if your customers have to resort to using 2x4's to fix the problem in their new car.
Maybe the rocking seat, tail light condensation and other issues will be fixed with the next generation of Maxima.
