2012 SV amp Inst

i have a 2012 maxima with the bose system. i added an additional sub and amp. the only problem is that i can not find anywhere online that tells me where the remote wire off the stock amp for the bose sound system is. someone told me it was a baby blue wire going into the amp. this is not true. and everything i find online is different. what did everyone else do?? please help! can someone give me a definite answer?

I used this when I installed mine, there's no updated AV service manual so it should also match what's in your car.

You have at least 3 places to choose from, on the brown connector to the Bose amp the SB(Slight Blue?) wire (pin 20) [page 143]. Or the 20-pin white connector on the speaker amp you can use either the Blue/Pink wire or the Violet/Yellow wire [page 140]

ok, according to the diagram, i had the right wire. why wouldn't it work if i spliced it in? i may have to tap into the head unit since i don't understand why it wouldn't work at the bose amp.

I am going to assume you have a multimeter.
Just check for 12 volts with the car on and off. Find the switch wire, and use it.

How are you splicing it in? If you are using something similar to T-taps, they may not work well. I tried splicing into some wires for my spoiler using t-taps at first and they didn't work at all.

i do have a multi meter and no t-taps. i stripped the wires and crimped them together. I'm getting constant power to both wires i want to use. I'm thinking i may have to o thru the head unit

Constant? Can't be, you should at least have the option of the ACC wire for the radio or the AMP ON wire to turn on the amp. Which harness are you tapping into, the Brown connector to the Bose amp or a White 20-pin connector?

Also if you can't find an accessory on those, then there's always the satellite radio harness [B111] and the bluetooth control module harness [B131] which also have accessories to tap into. I don't have the Bose system but do you know if it has a delayed turn off feature until after a certain amount of time after the car is turned off?

i have the one with the tech package as well. so it has the back up camera. when i used pin 20, it was getting constant power even when the car was off. as well as pin 11. it blew my mind. i had no idea why. i ended up going into the AV unit and splicing into the remote wire in there. it took me about an hour. i appreciate everyones input!! i spliced into a yellow and violet acc wire.
