Anyone with continental tire experience

I am buying a used set of wheels, and they already have continental tires on them. I have absolutely no experience or have known anyone to buy such a tire. Any feedback would be appreciated before i run off and purchase a whole new set of tires. Thanks fellas.

Continentals are good tires. Do they look like they still have a lot of life left? What's the specific model of the tire?

They have about 75% tread left. I will get more detailed info today.

You can't just ask a bout "continental tires"...it's like asking about " a Chevy" or "a Nissan".. It's the model that's important.

That being said, yes, the ExtremeContact DW and DWS are one of the best all-season performance tires ever made.

Continental also has the "procontact" line, they're decent enough.

I have the ExtremeContact DWS tires on my max, best tire purchase I've ever made.

I had those on my jetta turbo, am considering these on the max to replace the horrid goodyears.

I recently purchased them (DWS) for my Max, and so far they are great, haven't had enough of wet to test them, but I'm sure they will be fine.

My first and personal recommendation is Continentals. My friend has the DW tires on his lightly modded 99' M3 with traction control delete and it grips so hard on very wet roads and to be honest.. it is actually quite scary how much it does, its almost impossible to get sideways and wheel hop is almost all the time (broke 2 rear diff carrier bolts lol). As for DWS tires, they are excellent on my father's 5 series. The fist set lasted 39k and on the second now with around 15k.

Edit: I haven't put tires on my Maxima yet but will very soon.. Id say theres about 30% on them. Im either going Continental or Goodyear (another style of tire) Those 2 brands IMHO are the only ones that make nice tread patterns and are good brands, Michelin isn't as good as they used to be anymore to my opinion and heard from others as well.

I had a great experience with the DWS on my maxima. Last time I went to replace they were not available anywhere in my area. All the tire places said that continentals are hard to get now for whatever reason. I went with Michelin MXV4. So far they have been as good as the DWS.

So I found out they are the "pro-contact" series.

I think the ProContact series are OEM on late model Subaru Outbacks...Decent tire, for sure.

I had Continental DWS' on my 5th gen, 235/40/18. I was very happy with that tire. Handled well in all conditions I drove in. I would buy them again.

Just so you don't here all +ive's, my son put a set of DWS's on his WRX. They could never get the car to stop pulling to one side. Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sports. Cured the problem but the Michelin PS do not last very long.
