First time Maxima owner
Hey everyone,
I just purchased my first Maxima on Friday, its a 2013 S model if im not mistaken. The radio is the basic entry model and I would like to upgrade it. Is it possible to get the better oem radio that is satellite ready and has the nav function or am i better off just going aftermarket? Thanks for any help you guys and girls can give me.

Can you change out the basic stereo for the premium factory system? Yes. But before you get excited, it is not as simple as changing out the head unit. You're talking about a FULL system replacement. Speakers, amps, sub, head unit, including installing additional speakers that were part of the premium system that didn't come with the base system.
I would recommend going with a nice, clean aftermarket head unit and speakers. There are some very clean double DIN offerings these days from several companies for give or take $200. I'd say that's the way to go personally.

Would I loose the voice recognition that comes with the stock radio. It may sound cheesy but I like that feature.
