Battery CCA question

I plan to replace the OEM battery with an Autocraft Gold #35-2 for $131.99 installed at Advance Auto Parts store.
This battery has 640CCA rating.
I cannot locate the Nissan spec for how many CCA to use in this car. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a recently installed Nissan OEM battery in my 09 and it is rated at 700 CCA. The original battery I believe was rated at 540 CCA, which was not enough as a lot of the original batteries were failing early.

I would at least get 700 CCA or better especially if you are going to upgrade any electronics.

Yeah at least 700 cold cranking amps. Mine failed in December and I went with the die hard platinum which was rated at 740CCA

A Group 24 battery will fit and has 700CCA.

Buy online, use in store pick-up and use promo code A124 for $40 off.

I have the diehard platinum AGM. 850 CCA's. I highly recommend spending a little extra.

Yeah - anything over that awful 540CCA battery that came originally. I got the Duracraft AGM they recommended. I went in there planning on buying an Optima yellow-top and they talked me into the Duracraft instead, since it has way more CCA's and was about $75 cheaper.

Makes a wicked difference in how fast the car cranks.

Yeah the YellowTops are no longer what they use to be. The biggest advantage the have is how light they are lol.

Their battery for our car is about 35 pounds while the diehard platinum is 50!

Manufacture of Yellow Tops was moved to Mexico a few years ago. The reduction in performance of current Yellow Tops is not the fault of the Mexicans making the battery, but of the American company selling the Yellow Tops, because they set up reduced specs and requirements for the Yellow Tops made in Mexico to cut expenses.

To the poster who started this thread, the 640 CCA battery you installed will work fine in normal use. I had five good years from the 550 CCA battery that came in my 2009, but replaced it with the Nissan 700 CCA battery because my dealer had a special on the new battery, and I figured the old one might not last another year.

But those who tend to listen to the car radio while working on their car with the engine not running will actually need around a 640 to 700 CCA battery. The 550 CCA OEM battery was not strong enough to do much more than start the car when fully charged.

Just want to thank all the folks who replied or PMed to my original post. Since this car is strictly a commuter/daily driver car, no electronics, no modifications, mostly mild weather, I decided to go with the Interstate Megatron II for $109.99 installed at local tire/battery shop. The 24 month full warranty will approximate the time I expect to keep the car until it will have just under 100,000 miles.
Hope Nissan has a redesigned Maxima for its 2016 or 2017 lineup.

Yes, the 2016 Maxima will be a totally redesigned vehicle which will have no resemblance to the current Maxima. It will be similar to the Nissan 4door Sports Sedan concept vehicle introduced at the Detroit Auto Show this past winter.

This 2016 will arrive in less than a year, and will be the 8th generation Maxima. The 7th gen lasted from model year 2009 through 2015, which is the longest running generation in the Maxima's 35 year history. After the troubles folks had with the 550 CCA 7th gen battery, I would assume the 8th generation Maxima will have Nissan's 700 CCA battery as standard equipment.
