It's 2014 right now.
The CBS article said Model Years 2001 through the model year 2003 Nissan Maxima vehicles.

I know what your talking about as my son's 5th gen was part of this recall.


This is the 7th gen section though.....

Those guys are aware of the recall. I still vist that section of the forum at times....think that's how I became aware of it in the first place. We later received a letter from Nissan.

And not all 2001-2003 Maximas have the bad airbag cannister. I know two friends who have those vehicles as 'daily drivers' so they don't put their newest vehicle through Atlanta traffic. I e-mailed them both week before last, in case they needed to be at the head of the line for replacement, but when they checked their VINs with NHTSA.gov neither of their Maximas had the bad cannisters. One had a 2002 and one had a 2003.
