This is after approximately 1000 miles.
My car is a 14' Maxima with 15000 miles and runs perfectly fine does not burn oil nor ever has.
So I'm sure all VQs would benefit from this. I put a catch can on all of my cars and this is just as much as my 300C SRT had and my old M3 so it's normal to have this much I guess. I'd suggest a catch can for all. This would be coating my intake runners and backs of intake valves as well as pooling at the bottom of the upper intake.

what line is that that you tap into? I'm interested in doing this. My Maxima is a 2010, already has 45k miles on it. Never had fuel consumption issues so far, but if you're gathering that much oil, that's something to consider.

So - a catch can is a great idea, I'm sure. But, I'm at 120,000 miles on my 2010. I changed the plugs at 105,000. Of course, the manifold has to come off to get to the rear 3. I got a good look at all of the intake valves - as well as the lower manifold and upper manifolds. I've used synthetic oil since 5000 miles. There was some oil coating the surfaces inside, but the intake valves were 100% clean. Absolutely no deposits at all. Nor were there any deposits in the manifolds.

However...it is a FANTASTIC way to measure the blow-by.

Late,
Trav
