There is a good thread on faulty mirror signals, but is there a "how to" on the steps to get the mirror housings apart in order to replace the led's with the Altima parts?

Hi Blue Bomber,

The FSM doesn't really go as in-depth as you're looking for, but it does go through the steps of taking the mirror apart - just not replacing the turn signal (as Nissan replaces the entire mirror assembly). You can see the FSM page about Mirrors at the following link. The Side-view mirrors instructions begin on page MIR-19. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Maxima/2...Maxima/MIR.pdf. Perhaps that'll get you in far enough to be able to figure out removal of the turn signal component (which may require you to bake the light, I'm honestly not sure but perhaps others can chime in on this).

I did search the internet for user created DIY instructions for this process but came up empty, sorry. Hopefully this information helps!

its a SIMPLE job to do.. and you DONT have to take the mirror off the car either... i just replaced my lense in my 2011 about 2 weeks ago...
