Remote start

I found this on Amazon just browsing around, there's 3 reviews from people with altimas that say it's easy and works perfect etc.... I also contacted the seller and they claim the module comes pre programmed and is completely plug and play. The listing also lists the different models and years that it's compatible with in which the seller told me they are all programmed the same. Just looking for feedback, maybe someone has installed this? And have some tips for the install, thanks guys here's the link below

Amazon.com: Fortin - EVO-NIST1 - Stand-Alone Remote Starter System For Nissan Infiniti With Push-To-Start Smart Key: Electronics Amazon.com: Fortin - EVO-NIST1 - Stand-Alone Remote Starter System For Nissan Infiniti With Push-To-Start Smart Key: Electronics

Can't imagine you would have any problems. If you check my signature I have a complete tutorial for a remote install. Should be similar steps. Just make sure the seller flashes the appropriate firmware and settings.

Install was an absolute breeze, hardest part is taking apart the dash and disconnecting plugs. The kit came pre programmed for our car and works with Oem fob, 3x lock and it starts, 3x lock and shuts down, get in and shift and good to go. I highly recommend this seller above, good instructions and he also offers his cell phone number for any help with install, but this is so easy you won't need to call him

I'm glad we have other options besides Directed. I'm wondering about the customer service of Fortin.

Does this come with everything needed to install in a a35? I'm reading that A flashlink2 programming cable is required. Just want to make sure nothing else is needed.

No flash link is required, unless you want to change some of the settings such as how long it runs for, etc. it comes pre programmed to run for 15 mins and then shut off which is plenty for me, 3x lock to start, 3x lock to shut down if u decide your not going to leave. I contacted the seller prior to ordering it to be sure I was getting what was described, I'd suggest the same for piece of mind

Just follow my link for the correct kit that comes pre programmed, other kits do require a flash link to program.

Also check on YouTube search warmcarnow, the company has a ton of videos for install...I used the videos for the g37 and g35 for help

Don't worry about potential headaches, I would like to install the remote start on my car soon, but I'm not sure where to order the parts or what I need exactly. I see there's two links posted here to amazon. Which is the right one?

Thanks in advance.

The one I ordered is the link in the first post, that kit came preprogrammed to work with our cars. However I checked the link and it says the item is currently unavailable. I had the Amazon email saved and sent the guy who sells them an email seeing when they'll be available again.

The second link is for the same thing but you'll need to buy the additional flash link to program the module before installing into the car.

I'll let you know when I gets back to me if you want

Found this on ebay, they program it for your car before shipping. Would this be the same as the amazon link? Eager to get this installed asap

It's the same company, but I'd email the company to confirm that it's preprogrammed before you purchase it

It's back in stock on Amazon so I got one from there. I'll post back when it comes in

Update: Came in today, USPS 2-day shipping. Install was pretty straightforward. I went off mjhuffer's guide which was super helpful. Took about half an hour, and I'm relatively inexperienced. Just gotta find where to put the driver door trigger wire cause on the BCM 40-pin connector the 39th pin is taken

I will get one of these come winter time, I live in an apartment (so I cant start in morning) but installing yourself is a huge plus on these cars, and which that even after work starting is good enough for me.

finally done, hardest part was connecting the pink RAP wire to the -Driver wire at the BCM, the BCM is behind the instrument cluster buried in the 2013 and it was really hard to get to, other then that everything went smooth

I haven't done this yet because when I installed it...it was -30 outside and my nose hairs were frozen.

Reliability...

Hey Tommy, how's that remote starter holding up? I see there's one left in stock and I'm thinking about getting it... And range is pretty much just stock remote range, correct?

yes, range is based n what you have now, the remote starter is reading how many times you lock your doors via the remote so its just the normal range

mine has been in a few weeks, I use it everyday and it works great

Well I just traded in that car, took the starter out before hand but haven't had a chance to put it into the new 14. How ever I never had an issue with it, worked as described. I live in Boston but my house ad work are within range of the car so I never had an issue with it starting, yes it goes by the distance of the factory unit. You'll love it and as I stated watch the videos on the infinitis it's the same install, good luck let me know if u need any help when you get it

Just purchased one of these units myself. Going to tackle the install tonight. Just so I am clear, install should go as follows:
1. All obvious T-piece connections at Key Port, Brake Switch, and OBD II Port
2. Black/white wire goes to brown wire on Push-to-start button
3. (Optional) - Brown wire goes to Parking lights (Red/blue wire) at Fuse box
4. (Optional) - Wire in pink/black wire at BCM (Light blue wire) (or door wire switch) for auto lamp shut down

The only questions I have are on the "optional" steps. I understand that not wiring in the parking lights means no light, but there is a note in the instructions that for our cars (I have an '09), if the BCM connection is not made, the car will shut off once the door is opened. Can anyone shed any light on this? Did you guys make the optional connections?

I waited a day of 2 to do the optional ones and I had no issues with it turning off. I didn't even know it had the option to have the lights on when it was running, I realized when i double checked the install doc

keep in mind the pink wire going to the BCM in a 2013 is NOT by the kick panel like it shows in the documents, mine was behind the instrument cluster and it was such a pain in the *** to splice into it. I am sure there is an easier way to do this but I went by what the instructions said and did the splice at the box to make sure I had the correct wire

From the instructions I was sent, I was told to watch the following YouTube video of a G25 install:

In that video, around 6:50 he grabs the door pin connector down in the Driver kick panel instead of behind the cluster. Saves the trouble of pulling out the cluster I guess.

Also, did you use the provided T-taps or did you solder? I am leaning towards soldering.

the one i got from eBay didn't have the 3m t taps so I just cut, spliced and taped, I didn't even solder them, I electrical taped them and tied them back good enough to not worry about them coming loose

Just an FYI for anyone here wondering about this mod. Finished it as of last week on my 09 SV. Install wasn't too bad if you're good with wiring (I'm okay). The instructions provided by the seller on Amazon are perfect. Gives you the number for questions and everything. If anyone has any questions, I'd be glad to help out.
