Dude, I wouldn't pay someone just flash it for you.. Even more so if you have to pay to ship your unit and pay to have it shipped back.. I say order your remote start from Ebay from certain buyers that will pre-flash your unit for 3x lock remote start.. You are paying way less...Last i've seeing it, it was like $110 "free" flash and free shipping.

Or call local shops in your area and some of them may do it for free or for a very small fee. My local shop offered to flash mine for free.

This is assuming you already didn't purchase your unit..

Yeah, SR, I purchased from sonicelectronix.com for $85 shipped, only after tech guy couldn't confirm if unit was flashed. Item description said remote start, I installed correctly, did on-board programming, 3x lock, nothing...

Will this work with the S model? Can I also program it to 2016 Maxima key? Since it comes with a preexisting start up button?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long the car has push start it should work. I don't remember any of the Maxima's NOT having the push start.

I have the Fortin one programmed to a 2013 Maxima SV if anyone is interested in buying it off me, I sold the car and took it out. $75. All you would need to do is have it programmed to your key through the key fob holder in car using the fortin link updater

I have the fortin installed on my '13 Max and it works but it takes forever to start.... I am so used to my other vehicles and remote starting as I walk up to them... With the Max it takes forever to start... Most times it doesn't start until I am already to the vehicle...

How quick does everybody else's respond to the 3x lock push.

the instructions for operation were non existent... I know it should be easy as it is just 3x lock... do you need to unlock first? then 3x lock? Just 3x lock... How quick or slow can you push the button.

Again I feel like these are stupid questions, but mine seems to be hit or miss on the start and when it does it takes close to 30 seconds before it cranks.

not long at all, my Fortin started in under 5 seconds after the 3rd lock press, the longest it has ever taken is maybe 10 seconds but that happened maybe once or twice

What usually happens with 3 lock presses? I was messing around with my wife walking in front of the car and kept pressing it so it would honk at her and came out of the movie and the battery was dead!

New to the forum and new Maxima owner. I bought my 2010 Maxima a few months. Love the car. I am wanting to purchase a remote starter for it, but want to make sure I get the right one. This is the amazon link of the one I'm wanting to purchase. Is this the same one recommended?

I have the sport model. Will this work? Or, is there a better product out there that I should consider. I read all the reviews for this one, and all are either 4 or 5 stars.

Yes, that will work. I have the same one, works like a charm.

Make sure you contact the seller prior to purchasing to make sure that they flash it for you.

Awesome! Much appreciated! I would also like to get a long range remote to go along with it.

Go back to page 1 and click on the links to the product. Says there are 3 in stock. Better hurry because I'm getting one of them myself.

Great thread, really helped me decide to tackle this without spending a ton of money.

Also, did you use the provided T-taps or did you solder? I am leaning towards soldering.

Video no longer available? Anybody have another link? Or different video?

I have a 2011 and I installed a Eve-all and programmed everything and is connected correctly but will not start with the remote. I have called Fortin about 20 times and they say it’s not compatible and I need to buy a RF kit... has anyone else had this problem?

When you say "Programmed" do you mean you follow to procedure with the Dball Unit to recognize your Key fob? If so, that's not going to work. You need the Fortin Flashing unit to make it all work. Believe it or not, the unit does not come "flashed" to remote start and do whatever else you wired in..

So again, if you didn't hookup the Evo-all Dball unit up to a Red Round flashing unit and changed the settings on your computer, it won't work. Should I assume this is a Gen 7 with a push start?

Yes this is a 2011 maxima which is the seventh generation and I flashed the unit with their other money grabbing device. Really wish I hadn’t started all this because it’s obviously a snowball effect.

I'm installing this kit now and I am not sure if I have to connect the lock/unlock wires? Are they needed, and if they are optional, what do they do? I removed my whole cluster to access the BCM, but there a security screws holding it in place and I can't seem to get them out. Do these wires exist in the driver kick panel like the door pin switch?

Thanks!
