Tire Replacement @ 1000K?
Tire Replacement @ 1000K?
What's up everyone! Just wanted to get this information out there for those with 2014 models. I purchased my car about four weeks ago, and the first thing I noticed on the drive home was a very light shimmy above 60 MPH. I spoke to the salesman, but he told me it was probably from the car sitting for awhile. Well, yesterday decided to take it to have it looked at, and was told "a tire" did not pass the stress test. The dealership decided that (1) tire needed to be replaced, because this might have been a bad batch. Long story short, I had them throw in four new tires at no cost. There was no way I was going to have them replace only one tire, when they thought it was a bad batch. So...if anyone has a 2014 with a similar issue, it might be a good idea to take it back to Nissan. Just make sure you stick to your guns. Good luck!
Bad batch huh? Sounds like a best guess reply on their part. How long would a new vehicle sit in one place at a dealership without getting moved periodically?
At the dealerships I visit that's probably 2 wks at best and thats not enough time for a tire to develop a flat spot. More likely than not the tire was probably damaged sometime while being driven onto or off of the car carrier.
Or while being moved at the dealership, at least that's what I would suspect. I'm glad you were able to get 4 new tires out the deal though.

Bad batch didn't sound right. Rarely will there be a batch of tires bad. It's possible to have one with excessive road force now and then. (I worked at a Goodyear) but now I work at a dealer where a new car may sit for more than a month (sales being too lazy to properly maintain them) so it's possible for them to develop a flat spot from sitting. It's a hit or miss situation. Replacing all 4 probably wasn't necessary. But hey if it's free why not?
