My OCD At Work...

Call me quirky, but ever since I bought my Maxima last October, the Maxima badge at the rear of the car always bothered me. You have the Nissan logo in the center, the MAXIMA badge on the left, and a big, wide open space on the right. Always looked "off" to me.
Took advantage of temperatures in the 60's in Chicagoland today to finally remedy that...

Nice Altima!

That's what you will hear now as non car people will think it's an Altima. I agree it does look better without tho....

Hehe that's the first thing I thought too. It does look super clean that way though. And damn black is soo sweet when its clean, but I am so OCD I would never get anything done except keeping my car clean. It's bad enough with silver.

I just removed both of the emblems and problem solved. And the nice Altima statement is killing me

It's funny that I meantioned looking like an Altima because I had to rent a car on Saturday after typing that comment and what did they give me???? A damn Altima!! Black in fact! Ha! It's truly a pos compared to the maxima. The tranny sucks, handling is terrible I almost crashed twice while on curves on the highway (good thing I got the all inclusive insurance) The only plus is the trunk space and the mpgs. I'd take a max over an altima any day!

+1, also like the Maxima badge. Been thinking of changing it out for a 5th gen badge. I like the lettering style better.

I came from an Altima before my Maxima. Like night & day. The extra HP is worth the drop in MPG. Altima is more of a nice commuter car...

Anyone care to share some pics of their ride with both removed? I've been thinking about removing one or both too.

Nice work man, I think a rear window spoiler would look really nice! Especially with pictures like those!

I actually like the chrome as long as it's not overdone. I also appreciate the murdered look but I think it's more fitting for the younger generation.

Thanks Dude - Yeah, I want to get the rear spoiler and the front lip. I'm just ridiculously slow when it comes to mods.

I think it looks good with the burger as well. Like you, I was definitely going to take off the MAXIMA because of the 'imbalance' of not having anything on the other side. My other main reason was for detailing. Trying to get in those little cracks and openings is just a pain. I removed the burger for that same reason. Now I can take my buffer all the way across without any obstructions.

It's also funny seeing people walk around it trying to figure out what it is. I still have the burger in the front though. I also plasti-dipped the tails so they aren't as bright red.

I'll take some pics today as soon as this snow/rain stops and post them.

Edit: just added a new pic.

That doesn't look bad at all, what kind did you use? Is this smoke and clear combo? And how long has it been applied

Yep, you got it. I put 6 coats of smoke and 3 coats of clear. I did it back in November. It's held up very well in the cold and going through several car washes.
