removing mirror covers to change turn signal lens

I know there is a tutorial out there on how to take the mirror covers off but it's not very detailed. I feel like they are going to break after I get a small flathead behind them. Does anyone have another link they can send/or detailed instructions. Last thing I need is to pay for a new assembly for a couple hundred bucks.

did your warranty expire? They will replace the mirrors under the basic and extended warranty. I need to bring my car in and have the mirrorss replaced. Just waiting for the Drivers side to go out so i don't have to pay 2 deductibles.

Never mind... I ended up figuring it out on my own. Pretty simple actually. The link that Dudemaine sent i've seen before. It's good but a little vague on how to initially take the covers off. Hopefully this was a one time deal for me!! Much happier spending $40 for each signal than bringing to the dealer and getting ripped off.

Are your turn signals on the side mirrors not working?

If not, try pushing buttons on the rearview mirror in the car. Mine were not working so I called Nissan dealership. He said would be $100 troubleshooting fee. Said could be fuse. Went to O'Reilly's and the guy checked my fuses both inside the car and under the hood. Then he asked to see my manual. Looked at the rearview mirror part and I started pushing buttons on it. I have a compass on my 2010 Maxima SV. And both side mirror turn signals started working. Hope it works for you.

My led signal will be here tomorrow and I went out and practiced the process and I got my plastic cover off and I am having some trouble trying to figure out how to remove the mirror itself to get to the screw to remove the signal. What process did you take to remove the clips for the mirror?

@ Susan C., I have a 2010 SV and I have no compass, and it has every package. Am I missing something? lol

If your car has a compass you can turn it on by pressing the far right hand button on the rear view mirror. That button has the letter "N" on it indicating the direction of North. The car's ignition has to be in the on position, or the car running for the compass to work. The compass direction is displayed on the right side of the morror.

If your vehicle is equipped with the navigation system, it will not have a compass readout in the rearview mirror.
