Ready For Summer (Once It Gets Here)...

Been having Chicago Auto Pros in Glen Ellyn work on my car over the last couple of weeks to get my car ready for the summer. Had them tint the windows 35% front/20% rear. Today they did a full single step correction detail on the car to remove some minor scratches & swirl marks that I picked up during the winter months.
Car is now ready--- SUMMER, where are you??!!

Very nice Rod!! I too opted for the Blackhawks plates on my Tuscan 10, was so darn excited that i ddnt even wanna wait for personalized plates, just got random number!!!
Speaking of summer, i wanna do y-pipe, Magnaflows, and 20" Rohanas. All that is somewhere in the making...

Looking very nice J! Can't wait for it to get a little warmer so I can break out my Meguiars DA polisher to bring back the 'super' in that Super Black.

Dex, which Rohanas are you getting? I'm going for the RC10s. Probably won't be until late summer though.

Im torn between RC7, RC22, and RC26. When i actually make it to the shop to see how each looks on the car, then i can settle. The RC22s are my norm, i like 5 spoke rims, clean and to the point, but in trying to change it up... So even im curious to what style im gonna choose, hopefully coming soon!

Know what you mean. I ordered a rear window spoiler fro Ebay the other day. Even if it comes in, will probably wait till June or July when the really warm temperatures come to install it...

Nah man, you'll be good to install it in April or May; as long as it's over 50 degrees and nice outside you won't have any issues after installation.

Your car is looking fresh and ready and I agree that this summer cannot get here fast enough!

One thing that may interest you are the Nanoskin products. A lot of feedback in the detailing section here on the .org if you're interested. I have the Nano Shock spray (it's like a wax / sealant combined into one) and the Nanoskin auto scrub wash mitt (the fine grade one) and can't say enough good things about it.

You know how when you get your car back from a detail and run the backside of your fingers along the body lines and it's as smooth as a baby's butt? That's what this stuff does while repelling water, sealing in that shine and protecting the paint. I will never clay bar my car again. Just a heads up!

Not my car here but this is what it does:

Thanks for the recommendation! Never tried Nano products but went to their website and it looks like some pretty good stuff-- and it looks fairly easy to use!

Hey Jrod, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the detail for your scratches cost you? I've been looking around for prices on touch ups and this sounds like it would be ideal.

It was kind of expensive because it took them about 7+ hours to do ( I know becuz I waited in their waiting room and the Dunkin Donuts next door). Multi step clay bar and buffing w/ compound followed by polishing. Also included complete interior detail. Cost me $289 (they had a coupon deal).

A lot of money but had to do because I had bad swirl marks/minor scratches over the whole car from being lazy and taking it through an auto car wash to get winter snow off. Nothing but hand washes or touchless from now on-- expensive lesson learned!
