On my 2011 I have the usb port and the only thing i found out is it only reconcises the IPOD.. i have found a couple other things that will work but if you have the usb cable etc give it a shot.. it wont hurt anything. just wont find it if it dont work.. it wont break anything. .

If your iPod and the stereo has bluetooth, it should work that way as well...

I thought I remember seeing that you had to have the tech package.

Well, i do have the nav and pretty much when i paired my phone with the car, the phone has settings for calls and media audio. So i guess, in your phone, go to your bluetooth and paired devices, your car should be in that list, look at the settings for it and see if its enabled for calls and media audio... Hope this helps as i dont know anything about other model head units besides the little i've learned with the nav.

I been playing with mine for a couple of days, I found laying in a drawer a portable SD card reader that will plug into the USB port, Loaded a few songs on the sd card thru the computer, put the sdcard in the reader. connected the reader via the usb port in the car,,, selected the usb screen and waaalaaaa songs.. so this is anouher way to get music to the radio,,

You don't need a charger, When it is plugged into the usb Port it will charge the IPOD alone..

That might be what Tonz meant, "use the charger to plug into the usb"...
