anyone know what part this is called?

I have a dent on my drivers side door to the right of the window on the black "molding" or whatever you would call it, attached a pic showing the part I am talking about. Anyone know if this is easily replaceable? which part? etc.... I found something on nissan parts site but they call it "tape" so I didn't know if it was literally tape you peeled off and put on, lol.

thank you!

Door pillars to be exact, just do everyone a favour and DO NOT buy the chrome ones

Not sure if its pop-off able, maybe someone else will chime in -- I do know however you can get stick on ones in black for sure.

from what I am seeing part wise on ebay, and nissanparts is there is just a tape for the pillar put the pillar isn't pop-able you could check the FSM to be 100% sure. but tape wouldn't fix a dent youd have to fill and tape.

Always check here first, its a little rough looking for the exact part but once you find it, it's easy to check your local dealer for the price.

As I recall from the 2002 Maxima, that part is actually body color but taped over to appear black in color. I looked in the Ext.pdf from http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Nissan/Maxima/2009/ but wasn't able to locate that part. Start with the fwd.pdf to find out what the different pdf files cover.

I ordered the plastic new after market ones, I saw the "tape" part on nissans parts site too but i was afraid it literally is just tape and it will follow the dent in and it will still be noticeable, at leas the polycarbonate ones are solid so it will go right over it.
thx!

+1 Good thinking. Just make sure if the tape they send you is sketchy don't hesitate to buy some 3M stuff.

you could bondo/fiberglass the dent out.... as well. remember since you are taping over no need to paint! Only problem with the tape is bubbles, I think the posts are your best bet in terms of DIY
