On the ceiling of my '14 Maxima S to the right of the moonroof switch is a tiny amber light. Can someone tell me what this light is? i.e., does it indicate that something is turned on?

 

It comes on with your headlights

 

The purpose of that light is to illuminate your center console at night. This helps you see your way around that area in the dark when your marker or headlights are turned on.

 

"Mood lighting".

 

Mood lighting, they are also behind each door handle eliminating the buttons there.

 

I want to change that color; I like the mood lighting however I don't like the orange color.

 

Check the FSM, int (Interior) link is in my signature. Odd the site doesn't have int for earlier 7th gens but the '14 interior is the same as the 2012. If I get lazy I might take a look at pulling down the panel to see what LED/bulb is responsible for the orange mood light.
