Cold air intake

If a "cold Air" intake is what you want you already got it. The factory intake will produce the coldest intake air temps of our available options. If you want reduced performance but louder sound buy the Stillen or equivalent.

Yes. Sort of.
You will absolutely be slower off the line. You may add a few hp over 4k rpm.
The variable air intake is designed with the factory air box. The runner length and volume were designed to work together to product the most amount of tq in the lower rpm.
Putting a ram air (no one sells a true cold air) intake will make the car louder and more aggressive sounding, but does not help it at all.

Additionally, the throttle by wire regulates the volume of air through the throttle body anyway. This can only be overcome through software changes.
Regarding the intake air charge temps. Hotter means less power through a lack of air density as well as the vehicle pulling timing to avoid knock.
Pulling air from under the hood is not a good idea.

I have one in each of my Max's. The cons are negligible. It sounds better and it has some perceived hp when you do get it up in revs. I doubt I would loose a drag race with a max off the line without one vs mine with one. I would say go for it. It's an aesthetic thing. Some people like some people don't. Enjoy.

Even the RC2 dyno charts show LOSSES until 4k rpm.
It is impossible for your car to be quicker or have more pep.
RC2 is one of the few that is even honest enough to post their before and after charts, and even then they only show a few hp increase at the top of the rpm range.
*i have a RC2 on my car. Sounds good, that is it.
