Bad Idle Vibration/Help with dealer diagnosis
Bad Idle Vibration/Help with dealer diagnosis
I picked up a 2010 Maxima with 65K miles about a month ago. This is my 3rd Maxima and is just as nice as the other two except for one issue.
I detected a vibration the first time I drove it but the car had been sitting for a while and it went away after about a minute of driving.
After I bought it, the problem got worse on cold days so I took it to the dealer and they said that someone had replaced the motor mounts, that they were incorrect, and that new ones installed were going to be $1,800
They said that they would have to lift out the engine and that it would be 10.5 hours of labor. Does this sound right?

Does anyone know if these are electronic motor mounts?
Because on my 5th gen, I had to unplug my motor mounts because they would take out the ECM if they ever go bad. But I can't even tell the difference with them on or off.
