HID/LED questions

So I've decided to put in Morimoto HID's 35W for my low beam on a 2014 S. Do members here generally upgrade their high beam too or leave it at halogen? Also conflicted on what color to choose - 4500K or 5500K.

I found a local HID shop that installs and carries most of the major brands, including Morimoto's, at the same price they're sold online. So I'm trying to decide everything ahead of time, so I can get it all done at once.

Also for the fogs, what are your thoughts on LED vs. HID? All the old threads discussing this are a few years ago, and LED technology has of course improved a lot.

The shop carries Lumen's LED fog lights that put out 4,000 lumen - that's brighter than the Morimoto 35W HID's...all the old discussions I saw on LED fog lights said they weren't bright enough, which obviously isn't the case anymore.

And if I did the HID's and would probably go with Morimoto again, should I match the fogs with the low beam or go with the yellow? And since the Maxima fog light assembly is a reflector, wouldn't the HID's look bad or put out glare for other drivers?

Some do upgrade their high beams to HID's, me personally I don't think it's worth the hassle especially when you don't use your high beams very often. I would just upgrade the halogen to a nice bright white & nothing more.

As far as the fogs go it's pretty much personal choice as far as the color is concerned. Ive seen many different variables people have done with their fogs. I have 6k HID's on mine & its great especially on dark back roads. Gives me a nice bright distant range to see in front of me & I haven't had any issues blinding anybody with my fogs. In reference to the LED fogs that's pretty much personal as well. I've seen some in person that looks great on the car but kinda crappy at night where 6'ks are way brighter, but then again it could've been on the model LED's they have.

Okay, so I'll probably do an LED in the high beam or swap it out for a brighter halogen like Sylvania or Phillips X-treme Vision.

I've read that HID's in fogs are a bad idea because our housing is a reflector?

It's not that they're not bright enough lumen wise really.. Well that's if they really put out what they're rated which isn't always the case. Those claims are often exaggerated.

The biggest issue is that they put most of the light where it's not needed. Stick to HIDs.

That's the 1st I've heard of that. I haven't had any reflecting issues with my HID's in the fogs. They've worked perfectly fine & has added much needed light when going down dark roads.
