Warranty Voided w/ Air Intake and/or Exhaust?

I've searched up & down this thread but couldn't really find anything on this.

My factory warranty has passed but I have the extended warranty for my car which covers the drivetrain, engine etc. I've been wanting to put a cold air intake on my car for quite sometime but I keep getting different answers as far as the warranty is concerned. I went to a couple of Nissan dealers & 2 have told me that if I install a air intake or exhaust it would void my warranty but 2 others told me that the air intake won't since it's not a main component of the engine.

Has anybody done this or know the real answer to this?

Thanks

In order for the dealership to deny your warranty they have to prove that the aftermarket part or parts caused the failure on your car. A cold air intake or exhaust will not cause your engine to grenade.

Intake won't give you any more power either.

Just a noise maker. Spend your money on something else.

Thanks for the info. I was almost sure that was the case & yeah I know the intakes don't add horses at all. Found that out on my 04. It's mainly more for gas mileage purposes lol. May still not add it tho.

Thanks again

If the MAF goes bad, they will blame the intake.

Other than that, no warranty could be affected.
