Upgrade to 7th Gen Time!!

hi guys, ive been driving a 07 Max for about 7 years now and i think its about time to upgrade. Car has been great with a few minor electrical problems. I want to look at something in the 7th Gen range because it fits my budget around 19\20k.

I have always bought my cars about 2 or 3 years old with low miles and i hang on to them for 6+ years usually. I was wondering if any of you experts out there can recommend a year for me. When i was in the market to upgrade to a sixth Gen i posted this same question and i was told some really helpful stuff about the transmission being improved from 07' and up.. stuff like that would be really helpful. Any thoughts or observations I should be aware of on the 7th Gen models? I really appreciate it, look forward to your responses and thank you! This will be my 4th Maxima, super excited about it!

I own to 7th gens and love them both. One is '10 SV sport and other is '14 SV sport tech loaded. They say there were improvements on cvt as the model went on but driving both I don't see a difference. The sport suspension limits fold down pass through seats to an arm rest pass through. Interior seems smaller than 6th gen. I owned two of those as well. Rear of 6th gen always seemed huge to me. Depends on what you want or don't and what you like and don't.

Cool thanks for the reply! One thing i never liked about my 07' was the turning radius, does that get any better in the 7th Gen? I'm with you on the back, there is plenty of room for passengers, I always thought the back window is a little small but it never really bothered me.

One thing i always wanted was cooled seats, anyone know if that is even an option on the 7th Gens?

The cool option is only available on the SV premium on the later models I believe. If you want more features I'd say get the SV premium and if you want more or a sports car with gadgets then get the SV sport/tech. I'd suggest getting a 2013 or newer model. For your price range you should be able to find a nice 13 and possibly a 14

Went from an 06 manual SE to a 2013 SV. Was somewhat apprehensive about CVT, however I am glad I made the switch. The 7th gen is a far superior vehicle to the 6th gen in my opinion.

Far as in appearance ? Or performance wise? I thought the 6 speeds were the fastest, maybe not 6th but 5.5 gen....tell me why I should get this car lol ?

Now that I am in my fifties I appreciate more then just performance. The 7th gen is the first automatic transmission vehicle I have ever owned. I may be somewhat jaded with my 6th gen as I had both the engine and tranny replaced at 60,000 miles (thankfully both under warranty). There were also constant issues with the front suspension and brakes... though I did enjoy the car at times. Getting rear ended two years ago resulting in the 6th gen being totalled turned out to be a blessing.
I need my power from 50-90 MPH (not to concerned from 0-60) and the CVT works very well for me. I find the 7th gen suspension to be superior with better feed back. The styling is better and it seems somewhat more luxurious. I am now into my second year with this car and it still brings that little warm feeling to my heart every day.
