AC not working, at wits end

My AC isn't working on my 2009 Maxima. A little background on what I've done. It stopped working after I had to the dealer for an alternator replacement. I found that the high limit safety was broken. I replaced the compressor and evacuated and recharged the unit. It worked somewhat after this but the compressor doesn't come on all the time as it should. I have replaced the cycling switch that is mounted on the liquid line dryer. Now the compressor will run but not as should when calling for ac. I have rechecked the refrigerant charge several times I know I have the right amount in there. If anyone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated, I'm posting this for my dad as he is not extremely computer literate. He has worked in heating/cooling/general mechanics for 40 years and this is quite literally the first thing I have ever seen him not be able to fix. Please help, thanks.

Why didn't/couldnt you take it back to the dealer if they caused it?...

I did and they denied breaking it, I really have no recourse with them.

If they truly caused it, and your at your wits end... Take it to another dealer a "reputable" one if that exists near you and explain that the other dealer caused it when they replaced your alternator. Shame them here!
