How to adjust auto headlight sensitivity?
Both how soon it turns on when it starts getting dark outside and how long it stays on after you turn off the vehicle and lock the doors at night.
Anyone know? The 2016 Altima base model I drove had it in the gauge cluster settings. I'm asking for a 2014 Maxima S.

Pretty stupid they offer that as a "feature". Shame, shows their lack of innovation. It's the reason why only the two front windows are auto up. Even though that feature has probably been around since the 80's?

These are the little things the car manufactures do to up sell their cars. All i knew was I wanted a car with Nav and I got it lower than market value at the time i purchased my car.
Auto up isn't a necessity, it's a creature comfort, granted it's annoy to me that in my 07' it does not have this feature after coming out of my 11', or being able to press my door button once and all my doors open.

The question is too sensitive or not sensitive enough? too sensitive, you could put a film or something over top of the sensor on the dash.
Like a photography 'filter' to cut out some light,
if its the other way you are out of luck,
I know this isn't an answer you are looking for but I like my lights on when I drive all the time, so I use manual on off, I get into the car and its just something I do didn't have auto when I was around so Im used to it.

Also everything you mention is available you just need to know some basic electronics/soldering skills. if you wanted on time after key is out, you could get a 555 timer combined with a power sense, and when power goes out you get the 555 timer to shut off the cut power at the fuse and reset.

front left part of the dash I believe, if you put you hand over the sensor for more than a minute I believe your lights will come on, so you just have to put a film on it so that when it is sunset the light doesn't travel through the film and into the sensor but does in daylight. It will take some playing/adjusting to get it right.
but it can be done.
but it can be done.

they are (on the 2013 anyhow) in the speaker grills right up at the windshield on left and right. I wish they were adjustable, mine didn't come on this morning during a rainy dark drive, i guess not dark enough to trigger the headlights
