Nismo Veruspeed Oil Filter?

Has anyone else here tried the Veruspeed Nismo oil filters? Apparently they are an improvement over the stock Nissan filters, which are supposedly not the greatest and have paper media caps. Anyways, I want to try something different and see others experience if they have tried it. Also there are a few different part of numbers for this filter, which is the correct one for the maxima?

Do you have any proof that OE Nissan oil filters are "not the greatest"? Yes, the OE Nissans filters....some of them...have what you call "paper media caps". What improvement are you looking for?

Do you have first hand knowledge of Nissan OE oil filters failing? Do you have first hand knowledge of worn out or blown up Nissan engines that have used the OE Nissan oil filters?

Here is a link as to where you can spend $38.90 plus shipping for 1 Veruspeed Oil Filter so you can "try something different". I recommend that you buy 10, so you can some on hand. Let us know how you like the Veruspeed filter.

Did I strike a nerve?

First off, I never said that the stock Nissan oil filters are crap. So I don't know where you are getting at with that. If they were, I would not have been using them since I bought the car new. I am just looking to try something else possibly with better material, filtration and anti drain back design.

Anyone else know the correct version that will fit?

Click on the link for FRSport, go to the bottom of the page, under "Company", click on "Contact Us", and a phone number is provided.

Call and ask the part number for your car.

I decided to pick one up. Guess I'll see how it compares when I do the oil analysis.

Are you comparing it to the OE Nissan filter? What are your expectations with this filter?

Tried using Purolator synthetic, Wix and Mobil 1 filter. Didn't notice any difference. All are good filters.

If you change your filter every 3-5K I don't think you would notice too much difference. I have read a lot on this and there seems to be a solid choice in the Mobil/K&N type. From my reading it seems that really only a couple of companies that make them and then brand them for others or sell the components for others to use. Key is changing it every time you change oil and it shouldn't matter as well as changing your oil regularly.
