Question Difficulty starting after new transmission

Hi all! I recently got my 2010 Maxima SV (with sports package) back from the shop after hitting a piece of metal in the road. Ended up with a new transmission and engine cradle and exhaust. Now, my ride is having starting trouble. It turns over but acts like it doesn't want to crank, sometimes sputtering. It only does this after it has been sitting for a few hours. What gives? I am showing no CEL on dash. Once it cranks, it runs fine. Any ideas?

Shop didn't scuff up/clean the bell housing flange prior to reassembly and now you have a grounding issue. Either add a grounds on both sides of the bell housing or have the shop fix it. I'd choose the later. They touched it, they fix it. It's obviously a result of their work.

Thanks guys. I am calling the shop in the morning to have them reassess their work. Should I ask that hey simply check the bell housing for proper ground? I was afraid it may be a crank shaft sensor or something. Question....when I go to crank my ride in the morning (I work nights) and it doesn't start....what should I do (other than call State Farm for a tow). You would think the shop would have thought to check all this prior to my leaving. Go figure. I wish I knew enough to do the job myself, but....alas.....I do not. I can save you if you come in my ER, but I can't do sh** when it comes to mechanics.

I agree. Especially since there was NEVER an issue until now. I've already called my insurance claims agent who is expecting my call tomorrow after talking with the shop. She said "don't let them black ball you. If they do, you call me".
