Touchcreen GPS Upgrade

My '11 SV Premium has color screen without nav (or touch). I have seen many youtube videos of a touchscreen upgrade that looks great. None of the videos I watched actually led you to somewhere you could find a place to buy it.

I want to add this and not change anything else.

Anyone done this? If so, what did you get and from where?

Thanks!

I'd start by cold calling stereo installer shops for a quote and if possible ask for pics of their work. Also helpful is looking for local car groups and so on to find someone who can do the install in their garage. Again for that option ask for pics of their work and to ask previous customers. Don't just take their word for it.

What is it? What kind of options does your car have? Critical to what fits & works and what does not.

Subscribed -- this is interesting. I would love to see if this works. Im pretty sure it works off the same basis of press and hold in the corner to go to GPS mode.

I believe that was NaviLink's method.

Not bad and it fits the 7" screen...?

The biggest downfall of these replacements is you loose the HVAC control, or at minimum the display.

Can you let us know if both work and maybe do a quick video?

Actually this is made specifically for this car. So you retain HVAC controls according to the manufacturer

I've spent a year trying to find a replacement for that head unit. I've looked at countless websites and emailed countless people in this Quest. This is the best I could find

Keep me posted if it retains HVAC controls/display -- Ill get one too,

Only problem is all the comfort settings etc, selective door unlock etc.

I was thinking of buying a smaller screen and putting that in another location and putting in a nexus -- right now its just mounted so far.

I will. I'll post a video or whatever. I kept hoping someone else would try this out but they never did. That's why I went for it. I'll try and help out everyone else that loves the car hates the hu lol

The shop is installing the unit on June 7th. They told me it would take about two and a half hours. This was their best guess. They said theoretically everything should be good because it has a data bus with the stereo.

I had high hopes,

i really hate the level of integration that they decided to do.

Im telling you man if you got the amber screen, just split the amber screen out, and put in a tablet, if you have just the monitor package, with LCD you are screwed like the rest of us that will never ever have GPS unless its on our phone, I tried the HDMI line in thing and all that but its just not the same.

If I have time eventually I am going to try and split the signal out from the line out to another monitor and replace the screen with a tablet and call it a day.

That way I can still see my factory screen if I need to, but tablet for everything else.

Yeah. It was a long shot but somebody had to try right. The hvac controls didn't work. No sound from speakers, only a pulse through the woofers. Better try grom or something else. I guess my next challenge will be getting my 350 back from china lol

That right there is why I gave up on aliexpress everything is cheap and the return policy sucks.

Amazon Prime the whole way man.

But its all an offset because you pay 99/yr so if you were to take that as a loss you might end up in the same place the free 2 day shipping is a bonus.
