Wanting to buy decent steelies with long tread tires. Going on medical school interviews across the country. Cheaper to travel with the max.

Which ones are compatibles with the max? Any links?

I'll bite.

The 16" steelies will not clear the calipers. The 17" steelies may or may not clear the calipers. You need wheels with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern.

I dont know if I'm following your logic here though. Why do you want to down size the wheel diameter? Why not use your stock wheels and get some long life touring tires for them?
