This is my first time posting on this forum and Im a soon to be former honda civic owner. Im currently looking to get used maxima. My 97 honda civic has a blown head gasket and damaged engine block and I dont think it would be worth fixing it since my current car has rusted hood and front bumper. .Im currently have a $2500 budget (hopefully to get $3000 by the end of the month) to buy a car.

I was wondering which is the best year/gen in terms of reliability for the maxima?

Does the maxima have something similar to what the civics have in terms of different models dx, lx, hx and ex and what is the difference between all of them and their respective years??

How does the maxima compare with a honda accord and toyota camry??

What are the years to avoid? Thanks

 

With that budget you're probably looking at a generation 5 or 5.5. Year 2000-2001 and 2002-2003 respectively. Some nice Maximas in those years. Main difference between the 2 is 3.0litre and 3.5litre engine.
