For the 7th gen owners with the orange screen

Found this one day browsing the interweb looking for mods for the MAX. I skipped the tech package on the car cause i didnt feel i needed a 3000 gps unit. I may invest in this though.

I saw this video a few months back on You tube. Honestly, I would just buy the Pioneer with the Apple car play and put a Samsung or Nexus 7 inch pad in place of the orange screen. I did the same thing on my car and it works fine. I' have access to all my google apps, backup camera, dvd player, and my AC controls.

I just extended the thermostat wires with 51 cent 5 wire thermostat (brown) from Home depot and cut a hole in the spacer below the radio kit.

The detailed steps are here, but other guys on here and the facebook 7th gen group have done similar with no problems. I've been driving around with no issues since I've done it, and I wish I had done it sooner.

Also with apps like Torque you can really get the most of your Samsung or Nexus or Ipad using a $13 OBII connector from Amazon.

I hope this helps. https://maxima.org/forums/7th-genera...xus-7-a-2.html
