Rocking seat fix?
Rocking seat fix?
Hey guys i saw a couple threads with the seat problems i've been having FOREVER.. the rocking chair. All were inconclusive on how to fix it or if to date anyone found a fix?
Stupid seat still drives me crazy.
Stupid seat still drives me crazy.
Im going to take my apart this weekend and see where the rock happens.
I will spot weld/brace if I have to. The problem is seriously affecting my back everytime I stop it whips me forward then back. I then start unconsciously bracing my left leg on the dead pedal to prevent this which leads to no good. Dont even get me started on the active headrest and the bloody pillow that makes pressing the pedals next to impossible.
I will probably be cutting the foam down on that too and streching it out to be more like the passenger seat.
Totally sick of the damn car seat and not paying anyone to 'fix' it for 1500 only to have it break again.
It should have been a recall...

The first part might be more relevant on the rogue forums as they only have a 6 way seat recliner and the bloody pillow is way too puffy as mention above but I will post it here. Basically what I did was create a DIY upholstering edit removed the stuff and put in something lower. I then squeezed in all the left over material into the top... you could glue gun if needed - as when you put it back in to sell the car you can peel everything off, and none of it is on the outside. I haven't done that yet because I wanted to see if the edit even worked. and to be honest I finally feel like I am not making love to my steering wheel because of how close I have to be to get my knee to clear the pillow. I am 5'7" but I guess I have shorter legs then most?! Also since my legs were a little shorter I kept hitting the edge of the pillow (like my calf against the pull out handle side). Anyway here are the pics I know its a little sloppy but im comfortable now so I couldn't care less.
And also the video for the 90 degree bracket I wedged on each side and where I put it depending on your seat height you may need try a few before you get the right wedge, do it on both sides to equalize and boom you are done.

seats
I share your pain....
The dealer replaced my rail. Under warranty. The tech drug the seat out and scratched and gouged everything in its path. They replaced my center console, door panel, plastic trim on the bottom threshold and painted the threshold. The also but a huge rip in my window tint and dented the car. The seat was solid for a few months but now is back to rocking again.
