Loss of power!!!!!

I was driving my car earlier going about 50 and all of a sudden my car wouldn't accelerate and its like the more i press on the gas is the more it slows down. I stopped the car and put in neutrel and pressed on the gas and it revved fine but once in drive still no power. I floored the gas peddle and finally i got back my power to make it home. Could someone please tell whats going with my car and how i could fix it thanks!

My guess would be limp mode. It's in the owner's manual to read about.

Loss of power it typical of limp mode. This is caused by excessive heat coming from your cvt transmission. The cars computer senses the increased trans temp and limits the powers as to force you to take it easy so the trans can cool off.

My advice would be to check your cvt fluid and change it by doing a drain/refill not a flush. In the meantime take it easy and avoid wot pulls and long periods of highway speed driving

Sounds about correct because everytime it happens i pull over for a couple of seconds and my car goes back to normal. Thanks for the link and info. 1 more question what is wot pulls?
