Dumped the Maxima

Well, I liked the car and I drove it for 100,000 trouble free miles. Started to hear a wheal bearing whine and took it in. Verdict was bad passenger front wheel hub, bad control arm bushings, and 4 worn shocks. All totaling $2k in repairs. Not that bad for 100,000 miles.

BUT, I maintained the car pretty meticulously and did the Transmission drain/fill every 30k miles. At 95,000 miles I drained the trans fluid and it was all sparkly. Lots of metal in the fluid. I also started to notice some slight surging pulling away from a stop, and the normal engine braking programmed into the trans became very jerky. The transmission was failing. Nissan dealer wouldn't change the trans unless it failed completely and I only had 15000 miles left on the transmission warranty. I took the car back without making any repairs and traded it on a CPO Audi A5. No more Nissans.
