Possible CVT failure?

Hey new guy here. I own a 2012 maxima sport, had it for 3 years and love it. I noticed the other day when I would accelerate my car would shift down like normal and my rpm's would go up like normal but right after they went up, they would go right back down and back up again, kinda like the car couldn't decide which gear it wanted to be in. Today I was driving and it was doing it again when it all of the sudden stopped shifting down completely when I would accelerate, and when I would accelerate it felt like it was stuck in a higher gear. Has anyone had this problem before? I pray it's not a tranny problem but don't know what else it could be.

65,034 miles and no I haven't. At what mileage should that be done?

it's in the owners manual or you can call your local dealer.

Yes, you should've absolutely had the CVT fluid (NS-2) replaced by now. Most dealerships get it done anywhere between $170 - $220.

You will see the maintenance schedule for more severe and less severe driving. The first mention of CVT fluid inspection is at 30,000 miles, which doesn't necessarily mean that the fluid would be replaced, though.

Good luck and I hope that's all it is and it's nothing major, but if I'm you, I'm getting that done as soon as yesterday.
