Price Question

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 7th gen Maxima and I need to know if this is a good deal. 2010 Maxima w/ Premium + tech package 74k miles for 15k (before fees and taxes.) Would appreciate some responses as I'm new to here. Thanks

No way. I wouldn't take that deal. I don't know what your top number is but you can get a much newer 7th gen with less than 74k for around $5k more.

As a matter of fact, I live in Rhode Island and just did a quick search on www.cargurus.com and the first car I saw was a 2011 Maxima SV with 45,054 miles for $14,995. Also saw a 2012 SV for $15,995 with 35,661 on it.

So, yeah, do not take that deal! I'm glad you asked and hope this helps.

The thing is I want one with the premium package really bad and nobody around is selling one with it. With the price of this thing I think I may aswell just settle with a sports package, but I really want the cooled seats and the double moonroof of the premium

I bought my 2010 w/premium tech package,55k miles at a dealership in GA two months ago. The asking price was also around 15k, I did some serious negotiating and ended up getting it for 12.5k with no money down. If you really want it, negotiate, the worst they can say is no.

I'm not really good at negotiating but I plan on doing it when I go in, any tips?

Honestly I'm not either but I really wanted that car and I had a number in mind. Test drive it and see if you can point out any issues, if you can, that's a deduction. Just don't let the salesman fast talk you and pressure you into a deal you're not comfortable with. Don't be afraid to tell them no, you can take your business elsewhere. They really hate to see a potential buyer walk out, just know what you want and be persistent and firm about it. Also check the Kelly blue book value of the car and use it as leverage if it's less than what the dealer is asking. Also ask for the car fax if there were any issues with the car there's even more a reason to negotiate.

Yeah, don't pay that much for it IMO. For that price look for a M45.

Got my 2012 Max with Sport package for 13k had 53k miles on it. It needed brakes and tires and other minor stuff but it was a steal in my opinion. Just keep looking around before making a decision. Give them a reasonable offer and don't budge if they don't like it just walk, I can almost guarantee they'll call you back.
