Engine Knocking. 09 Maxima. 103,xxx miles

I will post videos and explain in words the best I can...
On a cold start my engine has a knocking noise after about 2-3 mins it goes away and my engine sounds great for the remainder of the time the car runs .. the only time this noise is there is on a cold start for the first 2-3 mins.

Yesterday got my oil changed to fully synthetic and now the noise is still there on a cold start but only for like 30-45 seconds now and then goes away and sounds great for the remainder of the time it runs.

I ONLY hear this on the cold start.
No lights on my dash are on except the TPMS sensor which is irrelevant in this case really.

I first went to Goodyear about a month ago for an oil change and then about a week later I first heard this noise so I thought they used the wrong weight oil and went yesterday to someone else and got fully synthetic.

What is making this noise? Lifters? Pistons? Etc?

Hi there
I just had the same thing happen to me a couple days ago... in cold weather.
I thought I may have the engine knock problem... but the engine sounds very on startup and idle now. I'm using synthetic oil. If anyone else has experienced this issue, let us know.

thx

Oh Lordy. I had a tickling from my lifters on 05 max, but after very high mileage.
Pour Lucas Engine Restore into engine to seal lifters. If the ticking goes away after you pour, then the lifters could be going bad..... could be

But do use that Lucas. This lifter issue should have gone away with the previous generation.

I use synthetic blend and change every 4K miles with 101k on dash.

Keep us posted.
